Kris Anderson
Kris’s introduction to pickleball came about purely by chance in 2013. One rainy day, her usual tennis plans were canceled, and a friend suggested trying a new game called pickleball. Curious and eager for something fun to do, they borrowed a net and some wooden paddles from the activities desk at a local gym and gave the game a try. Although the confusing lines on the floor made it a bit tricky at first, Kris quickly fell in love with the sport’s fast pace and engaging play. That initial experience was just the beginning.
A few months later, Kris attended a free introductory clinic, encouraged by local pickleball ambassadors who were enthusiastic about growing the sport. The friendly community and the joy of the game kept her coming back, and over time, pickleball became a central part of her life. What started as a casual pastime turned into a serious passion that would lead Kris onto the senior professional circuit.
Now, more than ten years later, Kris is a familiar name in senior pro pickleball tournaments. Originally from New York, she has since relocated to Newport Beach, California, where she is an active member of the Newport Beach Pickleball Club. Her local involvement not only keeps her connected to the community but also provides a home base for training and competing.
Kris competes using the ONIX Evoke Premier Raw Carbon 12mm paddle, a choice she credits for its perfect balance of power and control. This paddle suits her aggressive yet strategic playing style, allowing her to execute precise shots with confidence. “Pickleball is fun,” Kris says simply, a statement that perfectly captures her enduring enthusiasm for the sport. Even after years of competing at high levels, her passion remains as strong as ever.
Her career is marked by numerous impressive achievements, especially during the era before professional tours became officially established. Kris dominated the Senior Pro Mixed division, winning the National Championship four consecutive years from 2016 through 2019. During this period, Nationals was widely regarded as the most prestigious tournament in pickleball. In 2019 alone, Kris achieved a remarkable feat by winning all three major Senior Pro Mixed titles, each with a different partner—a testament to her adaptability and skill. Additionally, she secured both the Women’s and Mixed Senior Pro National titles that same year, further solidifying her reputation as a top competitor.
Looking ahead, Kris remains motivated and hungry for new victories. She has her sights set on the upcoming APP tournament in Newport Beach and is determined to add that title to her already impressive list of accolades.
